Unordinary Ink
Beryl helps you see your career differently.
A career system. Not a CV service. Four foundation documents. A partner called Beryl. Layers of intelligence working in your corner.
From recent users
In their own words.
I found the company briefing most useful when Beryl advised me not to continue with a role application because it would not deliver on the requirements Beryl had inferred I need in a workplace to make me a happy and productive member of the team. Any AI assistant I had created wouldn’t have had the nous to do that.
The insights from the career briefing were excellent. The system pulled out my core strengths and motivating factors, and described them in a meaningful and usable way. This has helped me reshape my narrative and convey what I bring to the table in a genuine and compelling way.
Beryl refreshed my perspective as well as my materials. Working with Beryl gave me a new angle on my career to date and the impacts I’ve had, and has helped lift me out of the rut I was stuck in with my applications.
Being able to assess the relevance of examples for cover letters has been super useful. Also, the identification of where I align with roles.
Beryl offers tailored output with immediate results. She is able to ask guiding questions, expand dot points, and provide in-depth analysis of strengths and weaknesses to help you build the perfect package.
It’s so useful. Good at consolidating all your info, one stop shop.
The shift
You only look at your career when something forces you to. That is the problem.
Think about the last time you sat down with your career history. It was because you needed a job, or you had been restructured, or a role was draining you and you needed out.
We do not take a proactive approach to understanding our own careers. We wait until we need a resume, then reverse-engineer our story under pressure, for a specific audience, with a deadline.
That is pitching from behind. Unordinary Ink starts from the other direction. Build a comprehensive picture first. Then every conversation, application, and decision gets sharper because of it.
Who this is for
Three career inflection points where the system shows the most promise.
Moving onto a board
Executives stepping into non-executive director roles. Board applications follow a different evidence structure: governance, strategic oversight, stakeholder management. The system pivots your existing career evidence into that format automatically, rather than asking you to rewrite your story from scratch.
Middle management to senior ranks
The leap into senior leadership. Most people stall here, not from lack of experience but because the narrative that got them promoted does not land at the next level. The system rebuilds it from your actual evidence. A mate at EL2 landed an SES1 interview recently, fifty interviewed out of three hundred applications.
The first five years
The gangly teenage part of a career. You have real experience now, but your resume still reads like you are scrambling to prove you deserve a seat. Building the foundation here pays compound interest. Every future application, promotion, or pivot runs off the pack you build now.
The methodology works across sectors too. A chef used it to leave hospitality. A government communications specialist landed creative agency interviews. Across all three stages, resumes and cover letters clear ATS screening at major firms while still reading like a human wrote them.
The process
The whole system, end to end.
Ink is a pipeline, not four documents and an AI chat bolted together. You upload what you have, the pack builds, Beryl goes live, and she stays with you through applications and interview prep. Here is each step.
You send what you have got.
Resumes, past applications, project briefs, portfolios, LinkedIn, colleague feedback. Any format, any state. Plus a short intake survey that captures target roles, sectors, locations, and salary expectations.
The system builds your career pack.
Four foundation documents, written for you alone, ready as soon as you finish your intake.
The full profile of who you are professionally. Strengths, how you think and work, what drives you, domain expertise, and a narrative that ties it all together. Your career translated into language that opens doors.
A go-to one pager covering your key skill sets, talents, career highlights and an elevator pitch. The document to review before your networking events.
Where you have been underselling, where you are misframed, where the gaps are. One pilot participant read his memo and said, “I see what I have been doing wrong with my applications.” Another realised her board governance experience and her operational career were the same story, not two separate ones. This is the document that changes how you think about your own career.
Every role and project in a structured table you own and can update. No more forgetting the big project from seven years ago, and easy to keep current because it is designed to be.
You read them and change anything.
The four documents are yours from the moment they land. If something is off, or you want it framed differently, tell Beryl and she reworks it. Your career story stays yours.
Beryl is live in your private portal.
Your documents, plus layers of tailored instruction, are loaded into a portal built for you. Beryl is your career partner, and she is ready at the same moment your pack is.
You work with Beryl on real jobs.
Paste in any role you want to pursue. Beryl returns:
- A company summary and the likely reason the role exists
- Sector and market context
- A fit assessment against your actual evidence, not keyword matching
- A flag on any culture or values misalignment she can read from the company and the role
- A drafted application, built through conversation with you
- If you land the interview, a tailored prep pack with likely questions and how to frame your evidence
Beyond applications, she also writes LinkedIn posts, cover letters, selection criteria responses, bios, and any other career writing you ask for. In your voice. Grounded in your evidence. Ask and she consolidates.
If you are a stretch, Beryl asks what else she should know. If you are a strong fit, she asks how you want to frame it.
The system compounds.
Beryl learns your voice, your priorities, and your patterns. My own applications now take about three minutes from paste to send, because she knows me that well. Every client’s system gets faster and sharper with use.
What Beryl does, quickly.
- Paste in a job. She returns fit assessment, company and sector context, a drafted application, and interview prep.
- She also writes LinkedIn posts, cover letters, selection criteria, bios. Ask and she writes it.
- Grounded in your real evidence, not keyword matching.
- Once she knows you, applications run around three minutes.
- Supportive coaching. Realistic framing. Zero fabrication.

Results
What this looks like in practice.
Every career is different. Two recent examples.
Within two weeks of her pack arriving
An EL2 applying for Band 1 roles had been framing herself as a generalist. The system identified that her board governance experience and operational leadership were the same story, not two separate credentials. She adjusted her narrative, secured an interview within two weeks, and is now progressing through the process.
Within three weeks of engagement start
A senior consultant in international development had spent 15 years in the sector. With funding cuts, he needed to pivot. The strategic insights memo showed him exactly where his applications were falling short, and the system reframed his experience for adjacent sectors. He described the memo as the moment everything clicked.
“So helpful. I have not experienced anything like Beryl. I like writing and do not mind job applications but this is next-level good. The AI behind it is so smart. The output is so useful. It is almost clairvoyant in its ability to get me and get me summarised in a document.”

FAQ
Common questions.
How is this different from a resume writing service?
Unordinary Ink starts by building a deep profile of your professional identity from everything you provide, including documents you have probably forgotten about. It then creates a personalised system that produces tailored applications grounded in your actual evidence. The career briefing pack goes far deeper than a standard resume service. The strategic insights memo tells you things about your career positioning that no one else will. And Beryl produces cover letters, selection criteria responses, and tailored CVs that sound like you and hold up under scrutiny. She also assesses whether a role suits you, rather than only checking you against the criteria.
What is the strategic insights memo?
A candid analysis of your career patterns, positioning gaps, and where your applications might be falling short. It draws on everything you have provided and identifies things that are hard to see from the inside: where you are underselling a strength, where your framing does not match your actual capability, or where a career pivot needs a different narrative approach. Most people describe reading it as an aha moment.
I work in defence or hold a security clearance. Is this appropriate for me?
Yes. The process is designed with discretion in mind. Your documents live in a paid Google Workspace, are processed in a paid team Claude account with training off, and are held in a client-isolated project. Nothing is shared with third parties. Documents are deleted within 30 days of engagement end. Confidentiality protections are formalised in the service agreement you sign before we begin.
What do I need to upload to get started?
An old resume, a few project descriptions or past applications if you have them, your LinkedIn (if you use it), and ten minutes for the intake survey. That is enough to get started. More material sharpens the output, but you do not need everything polished on day one.
Do I need to be tech-savvy to use this?
No. The intake is a simple process where you upload your documents and answer a few questions. Beryl works through a chat interface in plain language. If you can send a message, you can use her.
Does it help with interviews too?
Yes. Beryl prepares role-specific interview briefings: likely questions, how to frame your evidence for the panel, and what to emphasise based on the role and the organisation.
How long does the process take?
Your four documents are ready as soon as you finish your intake, and Beryl is live at the same moment. You can start working with her on applications and career coaching straight away. Application turnaround is usually same-day.
What if I am not happy with the output?
Tell Beryl and she reworks it. If something has been misread or misframed, say so and she will rewrite that section with you, as many times as it takes to get it right. You are not stuck with a first draft, and there is no queue to join. If the whole thing has missed the mark, email me and I will look at it myself.
Can this help me if I am changing sectors entirely?
Yes. The system has been tested across sector pivots: government to private, hospitality to professional services, consulting to creative agencies, international development to adjacent fields. The methodology maps your transferable capabilities into language that resonates with hiring managers in the new context, rather than listing your previous job titles.
What if I want to continue after my first 2 months?
Top up whenever you want to. Another month is $29, another year is $250. Nothing renews on its own, so you are never paying for a month you did not ask for. Your briefing pack, your profile and everything Beryl has learned about you carries forward, so you pick up where you left off.
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes. Your documents are handled securely and used only for the purpose of your engagement. Data handling and confidentiality terms are covered in the service agreement you sign before we begin. Documents are deleted from all systems within 30 days of your engagement ending.
